Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply to renting portable sanitation equipment from us, and to using this website.

Open Mon–Sat, 7am–7pm · delivery across the Richmond metro

Last updated September 2026. These terms cover the use of this website and the rental of portable sanitation equipment from Richmond Porta Potty. Booking a unit means accepting them.

1. How a booking is made

Rentals are arranged by telephone. Nothing on this website constitutes an offer capable of acceptance, and no order exists until we have confirmed it on a call — unit types, quantities, dates, delivery address and rate. Prices quoted on a call are valid for that job as described; if the job changes, the rate is re-quoted.

2. What the rate covers

Unless we say otherwise on the call, the quoted rate includes delivery, the rental period, servicing on the agreed schedule, consumables, and collection. Additional service visits, relocations outside a scheduled visit, out-of-hours delivery and losses caused by misuse or damage are charged separately.

3. Site access and readiness

You are responsible for making sure the delivery point is reachable and suitable. That means level, firm ground; a clear approach wide enough for a service vehicle; no overhead obstructions; and any gate codes, permits or site inductions arranged before the delivery window.

If our vehicle cannot reach the agreed spot on the day, we will place the unit at the nearest workable point and tell you, or return later at a rescheduled charge. Wasted journeys caused by inaccessible sites may be charged.

4. Placement and relocation

Units must stay where they are placed. Moving a unit yourself risks spillage, damage and injury, and any resulting cost falls to you. If the site changes, call us and we will relocate it — usually on a scheduled service visit at no extra charge.

5. Use of the equipment

  • Units are for human sanitary waste and the paper supplied with them.
  • Do not put chemicals, solvents, paint, oil, construction debris, food waste, nappies or wipes into a unit.
  • Do not attach signage, cabling, lighting or anything else to a unit without asking us.
  • Do not allow a unit to be used as storage, as a workspace, or for anything other than its purpose.

Costs arising from misuse — extra pumping, specialist disposal, replacement of a contaminated unit — are charged at cost.

6. Ownership, damage and loss

The equipment remains ours throughout. From delivery until collection you are responsible for it, including damage, vandalism, theft, tipping and fire, other than damage caused by our own staff. On exposed sites ask about anchoring at the time of booking; we will fit it on request.

7. Servicing

Rentals past 28 days are serviced weekly as standard. High-use sites may need a tighter cycle, and we will tell you when the numbers say so. Access on the service day is your responsibility; a visit we cannot complete because the unit is blocked, fenced in or behind a locked gate counts as delivered.

8. Rental periods, changes and cancellation

Rental periods run from the delivery date. Past 28 days the rental converts to the monthly rate agreed on the call. Cancellations and date changes are handled by telephone; a cancellation made after a unit has been loaded or delivered may be charged in whole or in part, and the position is explained when you book.

9. Payment

Payment terms are agreed on the booking call. Card payments are processed by our payment provider under its own terms; we do not store card numbers. Overdue accounts may attract interest and reasonable recovery costs, and may lead to collection of the equipment.

10. Compliance is yours to certify

We will help you size an order and will tell you the conventional planning figures for crew counts, guest counts and accessible-unit ratios. Those figures are guidance. Meeting any permit condition, health-department requirement, ADA obligation or federal workplace sanitation rule that applies to your site remains your responsibility.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with any rental is limited to the charges paid for that rental, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost business or the cost of an event not going ahead.

12. This website

The content of this site is provided for information. Sizing tools, comparison tables and planning figures on it are estimates and are not a quotation, a permit or professional advice. Text, layout and images are ours and may not be copied or republished without permission.

13. Force majeure

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control — severe weather, flooding, road closures, industrial action, fuel shortages or acts of government. Storms are a real factor in this region and we will keep you informed rather than leave you guessing.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts sitting in the City of Richmond, Virginia.

15. General

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stands. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with what was agreed on your booking call, are the whole agreement between us.
